Carrollton Manor on the Severn
Neighborhood Overview
Carrollton Manor is an affordable community situated on the Severn River and was founded in 1931 when it was initially used as a vacation community. Today Carrollton Manor has about 500 homes in varying sizes with three water access points: Sunset Beach, Crab-Away Pier, and Hillbottom Beach. It has a pier, boat slips, small boat racks, swimming beach and platform, and storage for trailers within the community. The community is maintained by the Carrollton Manor Improvement Association which was organized in 1941 and today participation is mandatory. In the 1980’s a black iron gate was added to enclose the beach so only members of the community could access the area.
